Late Flight

Posted on

With the snow of winter stalled out for a while now. We took the opportunity to head up to the 9.000 foot level for one more go before ski season starts. With a blue sunny sky and awarm forecast. We loaded up and headed for the upper reaches of the bookcliffs. The bluest of skies and only a sparse remanant of snow in the shadows was made perfect by the knowledge that hunting season had ended and the area was once again quiet and serene. We rolled along with views to the San Juans and the La Sals; we saw deer and lots of birds of prey and we rolled along stunning sweet singletrack in settings that deserve to be imortalized in paintings.

A perfect day on the bike and a prefect group af riders who moved together without strain or hurry all day long. I feel greatful for the chacne to get out in the high country once again and I suggest, you take the chance if you get it. Soon it will be too late and the snow will fly.

For today? It was us who did the flying and it was a perfect day for a late flight… glad we didnt miss it…
