I was Flyin’

I could see up ahead that there was a sharp right hand turn and beyond it by 1k or so, there was a small village. It seemed there would be enough buildings for a city limit sign. I had already played naive to the concept of town sprints while it was being explained by Fabian or our Zug area ride. But I wanted to make it perfectly clear that I not only understood the concept; I was a master of the game. I dropped to the back of the line and shifted quietly. As we rounded the corner I carried my speed and dropped the hammer… as I launched I looked ahead for the sign, sure enough, there it was. I had this one in the bag; I felt so proud and a bit like a cheat. But as the day went on through numerous little towns and villages I was able to stay neck and neck in every sprint and finish my trip with great ride on a great day with a fair amount of ego stroking success to take back to the USA with me.

Truth is it was the bike that gave me such speed. I want to say a huge thank you to Fabian and BMC for the chance to spend a week on such a magnificent bike as the BMC Pro Machine SLC01; there may be other bikes this nice but there arent any that I have ever ridden that can claim to be a nicer and more inspiring and yet comfortable ride. Thanks and I cant wait to ride it again.

Well I thought I was Flyin’ on that final ride and had a great time rocketing through the green Swiss countryside on the tiniest of roads with barely a car to be seen all day. Today I am flying back to the USA and to my stop over in New York City with my Travel mate Brad. I’ve never spent much time there and am greatly looking forward to the experience. More to come I am sure.

Till then; now boarding…
