Knolly Tyaughton Hardtail Description
The Knolly Tyaughton is a hardtail mountain bike with fresh, versatile all-mountain geometry. Our Tyaughton rental mountain bikes are steel but if you’re fancy, Knolly also makes a titanium version. The Tyaughton was designed to be an, “all around, do everything bike.” With a 64.5° degree head angle and a 150mm fork, the Knolly Tyaughton hardtail 29er looks pretty aggressive on paper (and in person). However, if you’ve been riding a contemporary all-mountain or enduro bike, you’ll feel right at home on the Tyaughton. And when the trail gets rowdy, the Tyaughton’s slack, progressive geometry means it’s up for anything you are.
In this age of wonderfully light, efficient full-suspension mountain bikes, why would anyone want to ride a hardtail? That’s a great question. There are lots of reasons to choose a hardtail mountain bike: you get more bike for your money, they’re lighter than equivalent full-suspension bikes, hardtails pedal better than full-suspension bikes and last but definitely not least, hardtails teach you to be a better rider. And some people just love underbiking – that’s when you choose to ride a bike that’s underequipped for the terrain you’re on. It’s a great way to make trails you’re bored with interesting again; and it makes easy trails more challenging and entertaining.
One of the main reasons we included the Knolly Tyaughton in our fleet is, at just $49 per day, it’s a very affordable rental bike. And for all the reasons listed in the previous paragraph, it’s fun to have a hardtail rental bike available for visitors. Whether you’re a beginner on a budget, a dedicated hardtail rider, or you’re an experienced mountain biker who wants to cover a lot of miles, the Knolly Tyaughton hardtail is a fun choice for Southern Utah mountain biking.
