Happy Thanksgiving everyone

November in Fruita, we have clear sunny skies, relatively warm temps, and super sweet trail conditions. Start your Thanksgiving vacation off right with a great pre-feast ride, possibly followed by a great post feast ride.  Camp at 18 road, ride, barbecue, drink, and ride, and start a kick ass new Thanksgiving tradition.  We will be closed the 24th and 25th, Thursday and Friday, so we can eat turkey and ride bikes. We will be back to business kicking ass and taking names Saturday at 9 AM, so come in and tell us about the awesome riding you did.

The Trek Slash is here…

Our store owner Ross Schnell won a pretty important race back in 2008.  The Downieville All Mtn World Championships.  It was a surprise to most people, and even more so that he did it on a mostly stock Trek Remedy.  That bike came with a proper 160mm fork on it and had 150mm in the back.  That bike ruled Grand Jct/Fruita trails.  However the world wasn't ready for it yet, and Trek made the Remedy more "sellable" the next year by putting a smaller fork on it and steepening the geometry.  It was a good bike, but not the perfect bike for living here in the land of rocks and drops.  Ross continued to ride his Remedy with big forks, and also started working with Trek on their next bike which would be two years in the making.  This bike would be everything the first Remedy was, but more.  More […]

New Winter Employee

Our building here at OTE Fruita is old, like over 100 years old!  Our poor little heater works all winter long just to keep it in the 40's INSIDE the building.  This year, we decided to hire an employee that is better suited to our winter working conditions.  Welcome to the staff Charlie!  Now get to work!
