We’re having a party!

Last year before the Sea Otter Classic we invited a bunch of our friends to a small get together at Solosjuntos, Mike Ferrentino’s ranch south of Monterey. This year we’re doing it again, but bigger and with a bunch of fun bicycle games thrown in. (Trivia: Solosjuntos is where Brandon Semenuk’s video “Parallel” was filmed.) The details are still being finalized, but so far it goes like this: Tuesday, April 14th Nothing really planned but feel free to show up in the evening and camp overnight. We’ll probably be BBQing or sitting around the fire or something similar. Wednesday, April 15th 9:00 AM til Fun and games begin and go til mid afternoon.5:00 PM VIP party (including dinner) until whenever… (You’re all VIP’s!) It’s a bit of a long winding road back to Monterey, please feel free to camp overnight if you’re planning on drinking, or bring a designated driver. […]

2019 Baja OTE 3Day Event

Fun with Friends The Over The Edge 3Day events are a chance for us to get together with our friends, ride bikes, make new friends, and experience what our various locations have to offer. A beautiful mix of sun, sand and bikes, the 2019 Baja OTE 3Day event was definitely a good one. Between riding bikes and enjoying quality time over just a few margaritas, too many tacos, and some late night churros, it was pretty much a perfect event. The Shop After coffee and breakfast every morning we met at Over The Edge Baja in Todos Santos. Our baja location carries rental bikes from Trek and Pivot as well as a range of replacement parts, tires and spare tubes, and awesome branded merchandise. They also operate a full service shop where Trino and Alejandro are both Trek World trained mechanics. Riding The riding in Todos Santos (and all of […]

2019 OTE Lake Tahoe 3 Day

Over The Edge Lake Tahoe presented our first advertised OTE 3 Day event August 1st to 3rd this year. The event promised coffee, bike riding, beers, river floating, as well as a premier of Anthill Films new movie “Return to Earth” and it delivered on all of those promises. With no idea what to expect we arrived in town a day early and headed to the shop. Our group consisted of Troy Rarick, Bill Bergeron and Ian Hylands, and we were hoping that others would join us. At the shop we grabbed some tasty coffee and picked up some rad demo bikes from awesome brands including Evil and Rocky Mountain. Once we had everything dialed we met up with OTE mechanic Jonah Teetsel and a few others that were gathering for a post work shop ride, shuttling up to Vansickle for a quick rip into town. Quick tip, if you […]

OTE 3Day Origins

OT3 Beginnings The OTE 3day is a 3 day adventure with friends and bikes in great locations. The idea of the Over The Edge OT3 has been evolving for a while. It comes from the basic premise that really all we want to do is share the love of adventures in awesome locations with our people. We’ve been doing that for a while now, and what we’ve found is that while we love going to bike festivals and seeing our friends, the best times are had before and after the busy part of the festival. This year at the end of the Fruita Fat Tire Festival we decided to host the first ever unofficial OTE 3 Day, a totally unsanctioned 3 days of just having fun with some friends. Call it an experiment. We planned to spend those days riding bikes, eating amazing food, climbing desert towers, and essentially just […]

2019 OTE Pre Otter Event

At Over The Edge we love to have parties to bring our people together to celebrate how awesome mountain biking is. This year we hosted our first ever “Pre-Otter” event the day before Sea Otter. The event was held at Solosjuntos, Mike Ferrentino and Kelley Richardson’s property, about an hour from Laguna Seca. Invitations were sent out late and attendance was small, however we assembled a perfect group of our friends for the first year. John brought his van and set up a sweet sound system, and after Troy fired up the grill Maurice Tierney and Mike Ferrentino took turns manning the grill. Conversation among friends lasted well into the evening as temperatures dropped and people gathered around the fire. While you probably won’t see any big stories about this event in the real world media, the mountain bike media were well represented including friends from Dirt Rag, Freehub and […]
