Niner Rip 9 RDO 29 Description
The most thrashable bike Niner has ever made, the current Niner Rip 9 RDO 29er is lower, slacker and Rip-ier than ever before. Niner’s do-it-all 29er trail bike has 140mm of CVA (Constantly Varying Arc) suspension with just the right amount of anti-squat to keep you moving forward without making the ride feel harsh. The suspension is tuned to initiate easily, with good mid-stroke support and increased progression at the end for big hits. In their video review, Bike Mag gave the Rip 9 one of their highest honors, calling it a, “hover bike,” that, “perfectly isolates pedaling force from the suspension.” A 150mm Fox 36 fork further smooths the ride and ensures the bike goes exactly where you point it.
The Rip 9’s frame is made from Niner’s proprietary RDO “Race Day Optimized” carbon fiber with “Rib Cage” struts for increased stiffness. It’s a light, tough frame and the slack, all-mountain geometry gives the Rip 9 an insatiable appetite for all kinds of trails. It’s down for pretty much anything Southern Utah has to offer – from JEM flow to extra credit mesa lines. The big wheels, smooth suspension and fun-focused geometry will keep you off the brakes and looking for steeper, gnarlier lines. As Kurt says in this Rip 9 intro video: “Dude, it rips!”
Not a 29er person? The Rip 9 is Niner’s first bike that’s also available with 27.5 wheels. We’re not stocking the 27.5 Rip 9 in our rental fleet but we’ll happily order one and build it up for you.
