Edge Cycles Hardtail by Canfield Bikes Description
We’re really excited about adding a hardtail to our mountain bike rental lineup. The Edge Cycles Hardtail is a Canfield Bikes Nimble 9 with special edition Edge Cycles paint and graphics. It’s a super-fun, steel 29er made for riders who like the efficiency, precision and playfulness of a hardtail. It’s most definitely not a cross-country bike, though. With slack all-mountain geometry, short chainstays and a 150mm fork, the Edge Cycles Hardtail by Canfield Bikes is more about finding fun lines than KOMs – perfect for the technical slickrock trails we have in Hurricane.
If you’ve seen or heard about the Canfield Bikes Nimble 9, you already know everything there is to know about the Edge Cycles Hardtail. Edge Cycles is located in Fruita, Colorado and when they started thinking about making a new-school hardtail, they realized the solution was right under their nose. Canfield Bikes is right up the road in Grand Junction and the Nimble 9 is a time-tested and proven bike. So Edge Cycles partnered with Canfield for their own Nimble 9 with Edge Cycles paint and graphics.
With a lively 4130 chromoly steel frame, 66° head angle and short chainstays, the Edge Cycles Hardtail lives up to the original “Nimble” moniker. The Canfield Nimble 9 was one of the first 29er hardtails that could truly claim to be a nimble ride. Previous 29ers were basically straight-line, point-and-shoot monster trucks that didn’t lend themselves to quick, snappy maneuvers. The fifth-generation Nimble 9 has been refined to be a legit all-mountain hardtail, equally adept at ripping tight, twisty singletrack or dropping off rock ledges. If you’re more interested in the overall ride experience than making a new PR, then the Edge Cycles Hardtail by Canfield Bikes is the hardtail for you.
If you’re bored with your full suspension bike or you’re just curious about hardtails, we have the Edge Cycles Hardtail by Canfield Bikes for rent in all sizes. Come take one out for a rip on JEM or at Gooseberry and find out for yourself if a steel hardtail can really be an all-mountain bike. We’re confident you’ll be happily surprised.
