BMC Trailfox AMP SX E-MTB Description
The BMC Trailfox AMP SX is our most popular rental e-bike. It has 27.5 wheels, 150mm of rear-wheel travel, a 170mm fork and Shimano’s E-7000 pedal-assist motor. It’s designed for all-mountain fun – or in our case here in Southern Utah – all-desert fun. Whether you’re doing laps on JEM or self-shuttling Grafton Mesa, the Trailfox AMP’s stable geometry, Advanced Pivot System suspension and smooth power delivery will keep you pedaling and flowing, all day long.
If you haven’t ridden an e-mtb before, you’ll be amazed at how comfortable and intuitive they are – it’s just like riding a bike! Pedal-assist mountain bikes allow beginning mountain bikers to keep up with experienced friends; allow people with disabilities to experience the fun and freedom of mountain biking; and for accomplished riders, they make it possible to do bigger rides and squeeze in after-work rides when time is short. All of our e-mtb rental bikes, including the BMC, have pedal-assist drive systems so the motor only works when you’re pedaling. It gives you a boost but doesn’t do all the work for you. You still have to pedal and you’ll still get the physical and mental health benefits of exercising outdoors in the fresh air.
We have two models of BMC Trailfox AMP SX in our rental fleet – the aluminum-frame Trailfox AMP SX Two; and the carbon fiber Trailfox AMP SX One. They both basically ride the same but the Trailfox AMP SX One is a few pounds lighter, thanks to upgraded wheels, drivetrain and the carbon frame.
