Every year we like to take a look back at the previous year’s bike sales and rental data to look for trends and identify our best mountain bikes. It’s interesting and useful to see what our customers chose most. We usually have a pretty good feel for what bikes people like but every once in a while, something takes us by surprise. Last year was one of those years. Below, you’ll find lists and links for our best-selling bikes, best-selling e-bikes and our most-rented bikes. Best-Selling Bike of 2024
The big surprise for 2024 was our most popular bike was an e-bike – the first time an e-bike has been our top-seller. It was also a brand that surprised us – SCOR, a relatively new and lesser-known bike maker. The bike is the SCOR 4060 Z – a carbon full-suspension E-MTB. It comes in long travel (LT) and short travel (ST) versions with either 140mm or 160mm of travel. It’s powered by the Shimano EP8 pedal-assist drive system with a 720-watt-hour battery. Even though a lot of our customers haven’t heard of SCOR, after they ride one of our 4060 Z E-MTB rental bikes, they become fans. The majority of the SCOR 4060 Z bikes we sold were rentals that customers decided to take home. That’s right – if you love one of our rental bikes, we’ll make you a deal and you can keep it.

Best-Selling Mountain Bikes of 2024
Our best-selling human-powered mountain bike of 2024 shouldn’t surprise anyone. The Rocky Mountain Instinct been a staple in our fleet for years because it’s a wonderfully versatile bike that’s fun on all but the gnarliest of trails. The current version of the Instinct has 140mm of rear-wheel travel with a 150mm fork and what Rocky calls, “Adventure-ready” geometry. We have a full range of pedal-assist E-MTB’s for sale and for rent – from an affordable hardtail to a long-travel freeride e-bike. Every year, e-bikes are a larger part of our business. Top Rental Mountain Bikes of 2024
Mountain bike rentals are a huge part of our business. A lot of our customers are in Southern Utah on vacation and don’t want to take their mountain bike on the plane; or tourists who want to try mountain biking on our world-class trails while they’re in the area. We also have customers who rent mountain bikes to compare and figure out what they like before they spend thousands of dollars on a new ride. Regardless of the reasons, we rent a lot of bikes and it’s always insteresting to see which models are the most popular.
Our top mountain bike rental in 2024 was the SCOR 2030. The 2030 is “downcountry” bike – a short-travel mountain bike with long, slack geometry. Downcountry bikes are excellent all-rounders. The combination of efficient pedaling and enduro geometry makes them great climbers that are fast, stable and fun on the descents. The SCOR 2030 fits that description and really shines when you point it downhill. It’s a great choice for all kinds of mountain bikers who want to explore our varied Southern Utah trails. Our most-rented e-bike of 2024 was the Rocky Mountain Instinct Powerplay.
